This policy applies to the Android app “Askeo – Gym Log” and to the website askeoapp.de.

2. Overview

Askeo is a training diary. You can use the app without an account; in that case all data stays on your device. An account is optional and is used to sync between devices. We show no ads, use no tracking and do not pass on data for advertising purposes.

3. Using the app without an account

Without an account, all data (exercises, workouts, body measurements, photos, videos and settings) is stored only locally on your device. Nothing is transmitted to us or to third parties.

4. Account and sync (optional)

If you create an account, we sign you in with Google (Google Ireland Limited) or with a code that we send you by email. For signing in with Google, Google’s own privacy notices also apply. When you sign in with Google, Google transmits your name, your email address and the URL of your profile picture to us. This information is stored in your account but is neither displayed nor used further by the app; it is deleted together with the account.

To sync between your devices, we store:

• your email address and your user ID,
• your training data and body measurements,
• your settings,
• your photos and videos.

The data is held by Supabase Inc. in a data centre in Frankfurt am Main (EU). Supabase processes the data on our behalf (data processing agreement).

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR: the processing is necessary so that you can use the account and sync feature.

5. Login codes and support emails

We send the login codes for email sign-in, and send and receive our support emails, through ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, Friedersdorf (Germany). The company processes the data on our behalf as a processor. If you write to us, we process your message and your sender address in order to reply.

6. The website askeoapp.de

The website is hosted on a server of IONOS SE, Montabaur (Germany). It uses no cookies, no analytics tools and no external content. The server creates only technically necessary server logs.

7. Retention and deletion

• In the app you can delete your account yourself under Settings → Account & sync → “Delete account”. This immediately deletes the account, your training data and media (photos and videos).
• Database backups kept by the hosting provider (without photos and videos) are retained for up to 7 days and then overwritten automatically.
• Alternatively, you can request deletion by email to support@askeoapp.de. We will then delete your data within 30 days.
• Local data on your device remains until you uninstall the app.

8. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. To exercise them, write to support@askeoapp.de.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit).
